About Me

In 2013 I co-founded Cubism’s Media Law practice with Robert Taylor with the intention of providing a ‘brass tacks’ legal service – offering non-jargonised communication, creative engagement with and pragmatic solutions to problems, and striving wherever possible to emulate rather than obstruct or stifle the energy and vision of our clients.

We do not attempt to impose a uniform approach to the client-solicitor interface but instead try to identify and optimise the value legal representation brings to each relationship, whether the objective be financial or strategic, whilst sparing no effort to mitigate risk. We never encourage clients to incur legal expenses where we believe the cost outweighs the potential benefits.

With almost 15 years’ experience across the entertainment industry, I can provide highly attuned insights into the commercial realities of live events and festival management, including talent booking, production, venue licensing, asset management, sponsorship and corporate agreements, vending concessions and supplier relationships.

I also offer advice in relation to general intellectual property matters, most notably in relation to copyright, trade marks, branding/merchandising and endorsement agreements. I have successfully settled numerous intellectual property disputes and, for those considering actions for infringement of IP rights, I can arrange a preliminary ‘desktop’ contract audit as a precursor to any formal proceedings.

In the broader commercial sphere I represent both entrepreneurs and private investors and have been involved in a wide range of investment deals, joint ventures, business mergers and consolidations. Clarity and efficiency of service lies at the very heart of Cubism’s offering to its media clients.
